With nice weather at Slough practice got under way, it was a smooth clay surface but very dusty. The AKA Cityblock soft seemed to be working very well while the main racing line cleared. Into round 1 of qualifying and Reece Sawyer with his AKA Cross Brace soft took TQ by a couple of seconds from Darren Bloomfield (Novarossi) and Simon Willetts also with AKA Cityblock soft.
Round 2 saw the temperature rise so the AKA cityblock medium was used with great success for Simon Willetts just missing out on going round for an extra lap by one second! Round 3 could got to Reece Sawyer, Simon Willetts, Darren Bloomfield or Elliott Boots, Simon Willetts put in the same time as before with some traffic issues but this took Darren out of TQ spot then Elliott put a fine run in to take the round with two tenths quicker! With Elliott and Simon’s two best scores being the same it went to their third score where Simon being the consistent with a 3rd place in first round gave him the overall TQ! Simon and Reece were using the new lighter springs from Kyosho due to be released very soon.
The Final was action packed form the start with Willetts leading with some pressure from Boots and Bloomfield. At the first pit stop Willetts came in just in front of Boots while Bloomfield going for one more lap for a clear pit lane. Boots car was filled quicker and Willetts car was put down catching Boots car and this made Willetts car crash on the exit of the pit lane costing him 10 seconds. Bloomfield came in for his fuel stop and was out clean with Boots right behind him as he came out on the track. Simon put in some very fast laps to put pressure on Boots, which worked as he made some mistakes for Willetts to come by the for Boots to retake. Some good Gentlemen driving between these two at the third pit stop Willets came in 5 seconds in front of Boots while Bloomfield was 20 seconds in front with his faultess Plus 4/9901 combination. Boots refueled but had an engine cut which cost him any chance of getting near Willetts again. Bloomfield made it over the line 27 seconds in front of Willetts and Boots retaking third after his engine cut. More pictures on Neobuggy
